The Eastern Region
This area is reached through a little secluded beach town that is scarcely populated or visited, but does have super friendly locals. Besides the plentiful beach breaks available, it is made up of several world class waves well-known for their size, shape, and length. There are also many other unnamed and secret spots in this area that won’t be mentioned for respect to the locals.
Las Flores - is a world-class right point break located over a sandy ocean floor next to a large rocky cliff. It has a super long ride with a steep little wall for almost the entire length of the wave. The drop is kind of fast, and it hollows out on the outside, right in front of a gnarly looking rock. It’s the most consistent break in the East, it will break well in almost any swell, and is fun for all board types and surfing abilities. There are no paved roads that lead to it, and access may be hard without a four by four vehicle to get you there.
La Vaca - is a strong right point break. The wave breaks over a shallow region of large rocks, which makes this spot very tide sensitive. The wave closes out at the end making the exit a little crucial.
La Ventana - is a fun right point break located near a cliff with a huge hole in it (like a window). It’s a rocky point that can be dangerous during low tide due to how shallow it gets.
Punta Mango - is a world-class right point break accessible only by boat. It’s extremely hollow and its size and power are immense. It is one of those waves that uses its amazing power to suck the water out from in front of it, instead of the wave rising above the water. Its located in front of a secluded, rocky shore. There is nothing near this point so you must take with you on the boat everything you will need, like water, food, sun block, wax, leash, etc.
